COURTER, ROBERT B.
KING, WI (FORMERLLY OF JANESVILLE, WI) Age 85 – died on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI. He was born on December 25, 1921 in San Mateo, CA, a son of the late Charles and Edith (Jacks) Courter. Robert had been employed as an inspector with the Boeing Aircraft Co. He had served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WW II. Robert was an amputee, and had a special prosthesis built to look like a pirate’s peg leg. He would act as a pirate on the pirate ship during the half-time shows at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers football games. He was also proud of the fact that he could kick field goals with his peg leg. Robert moved to the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI in 1999. Robert is survived by his close friend, Mr. Larry Hauger of Stoughton, WI. A graveside service and military rites will be held at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery at King, WI on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at 11:00 AM. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting with arrangements.
