ROBERT A. NOWAK
WILD ROSE, WI. Age 81 - died on Saturday, March 5, 2005 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point. He was born on August 29, 1923 in the Twp. of Belmont, Portage County, WI, a son of the late John and Marie (Kowaleski) Nowak. He married Virginia (Leinhard) Dopp on January 18, 1986 in the Twp. of Belmont, Portage County, WI. His first marriage was to Hedwig “Jackie” Wierciszewski on March 3, 1944 in Milwaukee, WI. She preceded him in death on October 23, 1984. Robert is survived by his wife Virginia, three children: Dale (Diane) Nowak of Milwaukee, WI, Donna Nowak of Forest Park, IL, and Dean Nowak of Almond, WI, a granddaughter: Kimberly (Michael) Burr, stepchildren: Phillip (Karen) Dopp of Wild Rose, WI, Sharon (Jim) Billmeyer of Verona, WI, Mary Jo (Harry) Eskritt of Asheville, NC, Tim (Jamie) Dopp of Wild Rose, WI, and Terri (Jerry) Dopp-Paukstat of Spring Lake, WI, step-grandchildren: Daniel Dopp, JoAnn (James) Romeo, Laura Dopp, Pamela Dopp, Carolynn Dopp, Christine Dopp, Jess (Erin) Billmeyer, Nathan (Stephanie) Billmeyer, Cassandra “Kasha” Dopp-Smith, Justin Dopp-Smith, John Dopp, and Annie Dopp, step-great grandchildren: Thomas Dopp, Alyssa Dopp, and Emma Billmeyer, a brother: Frank (Nancy) Nowak of Stevens Point, WI, and a sister: Rosemary (Joseph) Burzak of Milwaukee, WI. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Hedwig “Jackie” Nowak, five brothers: Henry Hudziak, Benjamin Nowak, Phillip Novak, John Daniel Nowak, and Eugene Nowak, and a sister: Jane Dunn. Robert was a member of the St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church - Lanark. He had been a dairy farmer for many years. He had also been a real estate agent. He graduated from the Chicago Institute of Design and became a clothing designer. He enjoyed carpentry and woodworking. He loved gardening. He also enjoyed history, currents events, and music. Robert had served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He was a member of the Daniel Dopp American Legion Post #370 of Wild Rose. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at 11:00 AM at the St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church – Lanark, with Father Maddu Bala Swamy, Celebrant. Interment will be in the Hope Cemetery, Twp. of Belmont, Portage County, WI. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose, WI on Tuesday evening from 5:00 – 7:30 PM, and at the church on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A Rosary service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated to the Ministry Home Care-Hospice Services of Stevens Point or to St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church in the name of Robert A. Nowak. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.
