Robert Rickman's Obituary
Robert G. Rickman, age 73, of Amherst, passed away on Tuesday, January 10th, 2006 at St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point. He was born in Abbotsford, WI., on June 25, 1932, a son of the late Charles and Mary Elsie (Kissinger) Rickman. Robert was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amherst. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 in the 34th Infantry Division as a light weapons infantryman. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Ribbon. Robert enjoyed reading, gardening, taking care of his dog - Cricket and going to his great nephews baseball games.br / He is survived by a Sister: Betty (Alex) Ostrowski, Amherst, WI., and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother - Richard Rickman and a sister - Shirley Stanchik. Funeral Services will be held at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Amherst at 10:30 AM on Friday, January 13th, with Reverend Chris Schwanz officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4 until 8 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst and Friday from 9:30 am until the time of the service at the church.
