Roger Laurence Tornow's Obituary
Roger Laurence Tornow, 87, of Wild Rose, passed away at Rosemore Village on Thursday, December 17, 2015. Roger was born on August 25, 1928, son of the late Chester L. and Marjorie D. (Chryst) Tornow. On November 24, 1951, Roger was united in marriage to the love of his life, Beverly Monroe.
As spoken by Roger's son-in-law, Wally: "It is with a heavy heart that I sound the final alarm for my father-in-law, Captain Roger Tornow of the Neenah Fire Department - retired. He was a father, teacher, friend, and brother. He will be missed. Rest in peace."
Roger is survived by: his wife of 64 years, Beverly; daughter Nancy (Wally) Olson; son Randy (Special Friend Julie); grandchildren Ryan (Annie) Backes and Nicholas (Ariel) Olson; great-granddaughter Onnalisa Olson; and sister-in-law Ruth (Robert) Billing. Roger is further survived by special friends Randy and Kathy, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by: his parents; his step-mother Ruth Dunn Tornow; granddaughter Kasidhe Olson; foster child Lila Albertson; brother Rex Tornow; sister Jean McKritck; sister-in-law Shirley (Fred) Popp; and brothers-in-law Earl (Betty) Procknow, Norbert, Robert, Myron (Marlene) Monroe, Ronald (Sue) Monroe, and Myron McKritck.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Wild Rose United Methodist Church, 225 SUMMIT STREET, WILD ROSE, with Pastor Douglas Clement officiating. Relatives and friends may visit from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
