Roman Hoffman's Obituary
Roman Lawrence Hoffman, age 83, formerly of Montello and Fond du Lac, WI., died on Saturday, March 28th, 2009 at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Stordock Hall, King, WI. Roman was born on April 2, 1925 at the family home, 197 Winnebago Drive in Fond Du Lac, WI., a son of the late John and Bertha (Dacheske) Hoffman. Roman never married. Roman served two years in the Army during World War II, with duty in Japan and Okinawa. Roman worked at Damrow Company, Fond du Lac for forty-two years, retiring in 1988. He then moved to Montello, WI., where he had a home on Montello Lake. Roman enjoyed fishing and hunting. On February 26, 1998 he moved to the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. Roman is survived by three brothers, Donald Hoffman of Milwaukee, Richard Hoffman of Fond du Lac and David Hoffman of Little Green Lake. Three sisters, Charlotte Wagner, Marion Hoffman and Ruth (Reinhold) Schrimpf all of Fond du Lac, and also survived by many nieces and nephews and friends. Roman is also survived by his caregiver and friend, Lee Myers of Montello and her family - Steve Myers and children of Fond du Lac and Barbara (Math) Beck and son of Montello. Roman was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Kenneth and his best friend Bucky Myers, who passed away in January. Graveside Services will be held at Central WI. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King, WI., at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 3rd, with Chaplain Wayne Schwanke officiating, with Military Honors to follow.
