Ronald Faulks' Obituary
Age 90, although having suffered from macular degeneration and deafness for many years, continued to maintain his home, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 30, 2005. Ronald was born April 25, 1915, the youngest son of Arthur and Ada (Quimby) Faulks. When he was a young boy, he saw the little girl with braids and said he was going to marry her some day. Ronald and Gladys were married on August 28, 1937, and together they farmed for many years on Townsend Road in Waupaca. In 1958, they sold the farm and moved to School Street in Waupaca, and eventually to their present home on S. Morton Street. Ronald worked for the Waupaca County Highway Dept. and although suffered a serious hand injury, continued to work until retirement. Because he was always happiest when he was busy, and took such pride in his accomplishments, he began doing landscape work in the area which included Simpson's beautiful flower garden on the corner of Main Street, the Wingspan Condominums, his home with the beautiful rose garden in the corner of his back yard, and several private residences. After suffering a severe stroke in 1990, and rehab at Theda Clark for speech and walking, he was strongly motivated to try again. However, several more strokes robbed him of continuing his routine and he had to be satisfied to take care of just his own home and visit his beloved wife every day at the nursing home for the past 21 months. Ronald is survived by:

A public visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2005 from 12:00 - 2:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. A private funeral service will follow with burial at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca. Our Dad.... A man that walked a road that's rough never settled for just good enough. He pushed on when most wouldn't bother, showed what it meant to be our father. We love you, Daddy Sharon and Rhonda A very special thank you to Bill and Bonnie Wenzel who have gone beyond the meaning of wonderful neighbors. Also thank you to the staff at Bethany Home who, always took time on his visits to share a story, joke, or friendly smile.
