Liebenthal, Rose “Rosie” C. (nee Johannsen)
Saxeville, WI (Formerly of Greenfield, WI) Age 77 – found peace on August 1, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. Reunited with her beloved husband of 56 years, Arnold “Arnie”, who passed away on July 31, 2007. Loving mother of JoAnne (Larry) Pullen of Racine, Richard Liebenthal of Milwaukee, Linda (Bill) Heinz of New Berlin, Marilyn (Bob) Crubaugh of Milwaukee, Darlene (Lee) Samplaski of Caledonia, and Lorri (Mike) Kelly of Saxeville. Proud grandmother of 18 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Further survived by a sister; Liz “Betty” (John) Whirry of Milwaukee, twin brothers: John (Eunice) Johannsen of West Bend, and James (Judy) Johannsen of Milwaukee, her very special aunt; Bridget Johannsen-Moen of Brookfield, special friend; Karen (Roger) Fahey of Pine River, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; Anton and Catherine Johannsen, and uncles; Charles Buehler, Walter Johannsen, and Jack Temmer. Rosie was a vibrant, compassionate, fun-loving woman with a heart of gold. Her beautiful smile and contagious laugh will remain in our memories forever. She will always be known as “Remarkable Rosie” to those who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank Dr. Patti Kile, Dr. Bob Dent, Dr. Michael Staudinger, and the caring staff of Riverside Medical Center and Theda Care Physicians. Rose’s five oldest children, their spouses, and families would also like to thank their youngest sister, Lorri, and her husband, Mike, for the 8 years they have sacrificed and put their lives on hold to give Rose the best care possible. A funeral service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Friday, August 8, 2008 at Noon, with Reverend Vicki Fink, St. John’s Lutheran Church – Saxeville, officiating. Interment will be in the Central Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in King, WI. A visitation will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Friday from 11:00 AM until Noon. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Rose Liebenthal.
