Rose M. Manney's Obituary
Rose M. Manney, age 91 of Waupaca, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 21, 2010. Rose was born on October 4, 1918, in Whitehall, WI the daughter of Roy and Mary Sosalla. Rose's family consisted of 11 children, with Rose being the last surviving child. Rose was a R.N. Supervisor at the Wisconsin Veterans Home and had worked for over 20 years until retiring. Rose married Howard Manney on July 8, 1944 in Milwaukee and he preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1993. Rose enjoyed spending time with her son Mark, her grandsons and her little great-grandson Austin. She never had the opportunity to meet her newest 2 month old great-granddaughter who lives in the Slovak Republic, but we knew she was proud of her. She loved traveling, gardening, trout fishing, playing cards and laughing at a good joke. Rose was a faithful member of St. Mark and St. Olaf Episcopal Churches. She was always willing to serve the Lord in any capacity. Rose also delivered Meals on Wheels to shut-ins in the community. Rose is survived by her son: Mark (Shari) Manney, Waupaca, 2 Grandchildren: Chad (Eva) Manney, Slovak Republic and Travis (Jennifer) Manney, Waupaca, 2 Great-grandchildren: Isabella, Slovak Republic and Austin, Waupaca. Also surviving are 1 Foster Daughter: Marge (Phil) Czlapinski, Stevens Point, 2 Foster Grandchildren: Julie (Mark) Shepherd, North Carolina, Brian (Jennifer) Glad, Scandinavia, 4 Foster Great-grandchildren: Levi, Nathan, Samantha, and Lexi and a dear Niece that was like a daughter to Rose: Jane Murray of Waupaca and many dear nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard and her 10 brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, May 25 at 11 AM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Waupaca with Father Wilson Roane, officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Park, Waupaca. Visitation will be on Tuesday morning from 10 AM until the time of mass at the church.
