Age 85 – passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013 at the Berlin Memorial Hospital in Berlin, WI. She was born in Milwaukee, WI on July 15, 1928, the daughter of Edward and Esther (Wiegner) Bauer. She married Byron E. Opperman on September 2, 1966 in Winneconne, WI. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1997.
Rose Marie is survived by her son; Byron E. Opperman, II, and her grandson; Teddy Opperman, both of Manawa, three sisters; Claire J. Wilson of Wautoma, Karren (Phil) Pettit of Plainfield, and Caroline (Robert) Andler of Dousman, and a brother; Ted (Judy) Bauer of Wautoma. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron, her parents, Paul and Esther Bauer, two brothers; Paul and Karl Bauer, her twin sister; Mary Ann Bauer, and a niece, Theresa Pettit.
Rose Marie had been a school teacher for a couple of years. She then worked at Shelmet Precision Casting in Wild Rose for a number of years. After her retirement she was homemaker and enjoyed woodworking, crafting, and doing needlepoint.
A graveside service will be held at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Wild Rose, WI on Thursday, October 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM, with Father Ted Lewandowski, officiating. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
