Roy Walters' Obituary
Roy Walters, age 90, of Poy Sippi, WI passed away Monday, February 11, 2008 at Sun Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, Fl. Roy was born in the Town of Bloomfield, Waushara County, WI on June 10, 1917, the son of the late Lewis and Mary (Ernst) Walters. On January 12, 1946, Roy married Irene Chier in Winneconne. Roy farmed for many years and also worked at Berlin Tanning. He was a great outdoorsman and loved hunting and fishing. For the past 28 years, Roy and Irene spent their winters in Florida. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poy Sippi. Roy is survived by his wife: Irene Walters of Poy Sippi; his son: Robert Walters of Poy Sippi; his granddaughters: Michelle Walters of Ripon and Micki (Doug) Kastenschmidt of Ripon and two great-grandsons: Jacob & Ryan. Also surviving is a brother: Lewis Walters of New Jersey; a sister: Lida Page of Oshkosh; a sister-in-law: Aves Chier of Borth, WI and neices, nephews and many special friends. Roy was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Kenneth, his sisters, Alice & Lila, a brother Jay and a brother in law, Edward Chier. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday, Feb. 28 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Poy Sippi with Father Joe Mattern & Karen Nesbit, presiding. Inurnment will be in the Shed Island Cemetery in the Town of Aurora, WI. Memorial visitation will be on Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church. In leiu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
