Ruggles "Russ" J. Doudt's Obituary
Ruggles (Russ) Doudt found peace at age 94 on April 30, 2014 in King, WI. Russ is survived by his 4 children: Pat Nissen (O’Fallon, MO), Charlie (Ruth) Doudt (Crossville, TN), Rick (Sharon) Doudt (Dunlap, TN) and Deb (John) Fabrycki (New Berlin, WI). Russ was a generous, faithful husband, father and grandfather. His servant heart was not only evident in how he cared for his family but also in his fidelity and obedience to his country and to the City of Milwaukee. Russ served proudly in the U.S. Navy (World War II) and in the Air Force Reserve (Korea) as an aviation metal smith. After honorable discharge, he joined the City of Milwaukee Police Department. Initially, Russ served as a patrol officer. After being injured on duty, he served as a police alarm operator. Russ was blessed with many years of retirement.
Russ instilled a love and respect for God’s creation in his children and grandchildren by passing on his Eagle Scout knowledge and experience. In his younger years he enjoyed camping and hunting. Throughout his life he had a deep affection for dogs.
Special thanks to the staff at the Wisconsin Veteran’s Home and Theda Care At Home Hospice for their compassionate care.
