Ruth M. Cook's Obituary
Mrs. Ruth M. Cook, age 94, of Waupaca passed away Saturday, November 11th, 2006 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. Mrs. Cook was born in the Town of Belmont, Portage County, Wisconsin on June 16, 1912. She was the daughter of the late George P. and Myra (Benjamin) Jansen. Her first marriage was to John Weller in 1928. He preceded her in death. She later married Phil Cook in 1950 and they moved to Denver where Phil worked for the railroad for 25 years. After retiring in 1988 Ruth & Phil moved to Waupaca to be with the family. Phil preceded her in death in 2003. Ruth was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother. She loved being a homebody, liked to cook clean and sew. Ruth was a member of Parfreyville United Methodist Church in Waupaca. She is survived by Son: Jack (Robbie) Weller, Maine. Grandchildren: Doug Thompson, California; Nicole (Tom-Bomber) Wanty, Waupaca, Wisconsin; Eve (James) Barrett, Dunedin, Florida; Michele (Stuart) Ray, Milbridge, Maine; Terri Murrell, Denver, Colorado; Scott Williamson, Denver, Colorado; Eight Great Grandchildren: Allena, Dallas, Paige, Kylar, Kynsey, Aaron, Derrick, Joshua. Sister: Nila King-Steinbauer, Waupaca. She was preceded in death by: her husband - Phil; her parents; a daughter - Dorothy Williamson; a grandson - Spike Williamson; son in law: Allen Williamson, Brother: Ray Jansen. Funeral Service will be held at Parfreyville United Methodist Church, Waupaca, Wisconsin. at 11 AM on Wednesday, November 15th, with Reverend Joan Frost officiating. Interment will be in the First Belmont Cemetery in the Town of Belmont, Portage County, Wisconsin. Visitation will be held Wednesday 10-11 AM. at the church. The family would like to thank the Staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home Olson Hall #5 for the excellent care given to Ruth while she was a resident. A.J. Holly & Sons LTD
