“Sam” Donald L. Forseth

Sam Forseth, 80 of Pine River passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, WI. He was born in Waupaca County to Nels and Francis (Edminster) Forseth. He proudly served in the Waupaca National Guard, 3 years in the U.S. Navy, and then returned in 1955 to graduate from Waupaca High School. He then joined the U.S. Air Force and served until his medical retirement in 1968 with 20 years of service to his country. He married Linda (Caldwell) on April 20, 1956. After many military homes they settled in Pine River for the past 45 years. He is survived by his wife, Linda, his children: Kathy (Bill) Fabricius, Berlin, Brian (Sheila Daly) Forseth, Oakhurst; NJ, and Clifford (Sherry) Forseth, Almond. Special niece, Jill (Mike) Herberg, Appleton, and special nephew, Joe Jagla, Antigo. Grandchildren: Natay (David) Warren, Berlin, Alexander, Owen and Evelyn Daly Forseth, Oakurst, NJ, Danielle and Paige Forseth, Almond, Amy and Marcus Herberg, Appleton, and Mirah and Alex Jagla, Antigo. Great Grandson Hunter Warren, Berlin, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sam was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Vergil Potts, and Doris Jagla, and brothers: Bill, Bob and Jim Forseth. Visitation will take place at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Friday, March 14, 2014 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M, and again on Saturday, March 15 from 9:30 A.M until the time of service at 11:00 A.M. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Saxeville. Pastor Vicki Fink will be officiating. Burial will take place later this spring at the Crystal Lake Cemetery, Twp. of Dayton, Waupaca Co., WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in memory of Sam Forseth. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family wishes to thank the CNA’s, RN’s, and staff at Recover Health. Their wonderful care made it possible for Sam to remain in his home these last few years. It has been a blessing for him and his family.
