Sandra Kay M. Karch's Obituary
Sandra Kay “Sandy” M. Karch, age 79, of Amherst Jct., WI, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 in Amherst Jct. She was born April 22, 1943 in McHenry, IL; daughter of Joseph and Evelyn (Kenowski) Loecher. The Loecher family moved from Illinois to Amherst, WI in 1948 where they raised their nine children. Sandy and Eddie were a potato growing team. Eddie drove the tractor and Sandy was on the two-row planter, pushing seed down. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and making everyone happy through her cooking, and she passed that wonderful quality on to her daughter. Family enjoyed her famous peanut butter and sugar cookies, potato salad, and cinnamon rolls. Sandy loved fresh pickles and tomatoes from the garden. She loved to play cards and deuces were always her wild card pick. Sandy could never pass an ice cream shop without stopping and getting her favorite tastee freeze. She was a loving mother, caring grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. Mom, I love you and you will be greatly missed – Love, Paula.
Sandy is survived by her daughter Paula (Dale) Shulfer of Amherst Jct.; two grandsons John and Bryan Shulfer of Amherst Jct.; two great-grandchildren which she adored Ellie and Gunner Lutz of Stevens Point; five siblings Jim (Sally) Loecher of Waupaca, Judi Marquard of Amherst, Diane (Patrick) Stuczynski of Amherst, Patt “Patsy” (George Pliska) Loecher of Stevens Point, and Tim (Patty) Loecher of Kewaunee; two brothers-in-law Anthony “Tony” Zblewski of Amherst and Herbert “Herbie” Borchert of Waupaca; and also by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Evelyn Loecher; her husband Edward “Eddie” Karch, Jr.; a brother David Loecher; and two sisters Ramona Zblewski and Carol Borchert.

A huge thank-you to our mom’s caregiver, Eleanor Richter. She took care of mom for the past six years. Eleanor was mom’s angel and we were blessed to have her! Also, thank-you to the Aspirus Hospice team, what an amazing group of people. They truly are angels that walk on earth.
