Sandra "Sandy" K. Schroeder's Obituary
Sandra "Sandy" Kaye Schroeder, age 62 of Waupaca, WI passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026.
Born August 15, 1963 in Appleton, WI to Judith (Pope) and Thomas Diener. Sandy was met at the gates of heaven by her parents, grandparents, numerous in-laws and of course all the people who loved her that went before her. Sandy was always there for those who she loved most. In return, those people have always been there for her no matter if the need was driving and sitting with her to take notes for many doctors' appointments, treatment appointments, listening to frustrations or singing to her in the middle of the night to cheer her up after having a hard day.
Apparently, pigs do fly!! After dating for 12 years, during which time Sandy's answer to "When are you guys getting married?" was "WHEN PIGS FLY!", Sandy married Mouse (John) Schroeder on August 14, 1996 at a very small and simple elopement ceremony. Sandy and Mouse shared lots of fun together with their animals and friends (some of which were known by their "animal" names). As with any marriage not everything was hunky dory. That is why Sandy and Mouse had an agreement that they called Divorce Thursday in which whatever was said, no matter how much they fought or how bitchy either was on Thursdays - they could not get a divorce. Was everything bottled up until Thursday? Only Sandy and Mouse know the real story. Sandy did not have children of her own but was lovingly known to several children as Aunt Sandy. They had special adventures with Aunt Sandy that made for tons of laughter and amazing memories! She will be greatly missed by her bonus kids: Rose Nelson (Swanson), Paige Swanson and Sami Swanson (Godchild); as well as others whom she loved in her own special way.
Speaking of adventures! Just being around Sandy was always an adventure! From decorating a friends front yard tree with condoms, to always sharing a dessert no matter how full we were when going out to eat, to adventures in the shop (what happens in the shop stays in the shop!). Sandy was always ready for an adventure of any kind!
Sandy always enjoyed getting her nails and hair done. Since being diagnosed with cancer, Dawn could turn her worst day to one of her best.
Sandy wants to give a special Thank You to Chad Hansen for his commitment to helping, caring for and checking in on Sandy and Mouse. She also wants to thank the staff at ThedaCare Hospice.
Sandy leaves behind her husband, Mouse (John) Schroeder, two sisters-in-law and partners in crime, Cindy Messner, Sally LeComte and Jenny Hansen.
Per Sandy's wishes, no services will be held at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
