Scott Batten's Obituary
Scott David Batten, age 52, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Tuesday, September 24th, 2013 at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Olson Hall, King, WI. He was born in Waupaca on April 2, 1961, a son of the late Selmer H. Batten and Gloria (Reynolds) Batten. Scott spent most of his life in and around Waupaca, except for the time he was away at college and in the Army Military Police. Scott graduated from High School at the Baptist Christian School, and then attended Anderson College for two years and then two years at UW Stevens Point. After that he enlisted in the service and was there for 11 years. After his discharge from the service he worked for a short time at Subway in Appleton, until he found a steady job at Hillshire in New London. He is survived by his Mother: Gloria Miller, and step dad Robert Miller, Waupaca, WI; a Sister: Laurel Batten, Stevens Point, WI; 2 Nieces: Grace Orlando, Clarksville, IN and Gloria Ortiz, Stevens Point, WI. Scott is further survived by lots of cousins, friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers, Randy Batten and Monte Batten, both set of grandparents, John and Grace Reynolds and Martin and Gertrude Batten. Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church in Waupaca at 11 AM on Monday, September 30th, 2013, with Reverend Larry G. Gross, officiating. Interment will be in the Salem (Swede) Lutheran Cemetery, Town Farmington, Waupaca Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Monday, from 10 AM until the time of the service at the church.
