Sharon T. Simonson's Obituary
Sharon Therese Simonson, age 81, of Mt Morris, WI, won her long-term fight with Alzheimer’s disease on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Rosemore Village in Wild Rose, WI. She was born September 8, 1940, in Kingston, WI; daughter of Gordon and Henrietta (Malamphy) Glover. On October 28, 1961, Sharon married Leslie George Simonson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in the town of Kingston, WI. Together they raised four children. She was an inspiration to all, and will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Leslie Simonson of Mt Morris, WI; four children, Timothy Dale (Lori) Simonson of Markesan, WI, Philip George (Susan) Simonson of Minneapolis, MN, Ruth Ann (Ronald) Dethart of Sparta, WI, Erik (Darren) Simonson of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren Leigh Anne (Mike) Brumley, Evansville, WI, Casey George (Merisa) Simonson of Otsego, MN, Zachery Dale Simonson, Philadelphia, PA, Courtney Michelle Simonson, Tampa, FL, Erik Dale Dethart, Onalaska, WI, Veronika Ann Dethart, Madison, WI, and David Kyle Dethart, Sparta, WI; one great-grandchild Andi Rae Simonson; two siblings, Roxanne (Steve) Buchannan, DeForest, WI, and Maureen Preuss (Glover), McFarland, WI; one brother-in-law, Boyd Simonson of Waupaca, WI; three sisters-in-law, Zona (Bryon) Leitch of Sheboygan, WI, Ingrid Corlette of Oshkosh, WI and Donna Freitag Glover of Montello, WI and also by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Henrietta Glover; two brothers, Gary and Gerard Glover; two sisters Carol (Harley) Frazer and Colleen (Dave) McGinnis; two sisters-in-law Jane Simonson and Sandy Glover; two brothers-in-law, Harley Frazer and Steve Buchannan; and one grandson Kyle Davis Simonson.
A memorial service will be on Friday, July 1, 2022 at 12 Noon at The Holly Funeral Home, 630 County Hwy G & H in Wild Rose, WI 54984. Burial of cremains will be at Mt. Morris Holden Cemetery in the Town of Mt. Morris, WI. A visitation will be held on Friday July 1, 2022 from 11:00 am until the time of services at 12 noon at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose, WI.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Sharon’s name. The Holly Funeral Home of Wild Rose is assisting the family with arrangements.
