Sherman C. Kramer's Obituary
Sherman C. Kramer, age 92, of Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI, formally of Racine passed away Friday, October 30, 2009 at Veterans Home. Sherman was born in Racine, WI on July 2, 1917, the son of the late Harry and Johanna (Barwick) Kramer. He worked for many years in the Racine School District. On November 22, 1947, Sherman married Lucille Kramer and she preceded him in death on Nov. 4, 1988. Sherman served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He was an Airplane Maintenace chief and the pilots called him Doc. He received the European, African and Middle Eastern Theater Ribbons with one Silver Battle Star and one Bronze Battle Star. Also, six overseas service bars, one service stripe and a good conduct medal. Sherman is survived by his sons: Daniel (Jane) Kramer, Appleton, WI and James (Linda) Kramer, Racine, WI; his grandchildren: Joshua & Sarah Kramer, Racine, WI; a great grandchild: Kiley Kramer and his sister: Ruth Runge, Racine, WI. Sherman was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Lucille Kramer, a brother, Harry and 2 sisters, Desire Elbe & Jeanette LaCroix. A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 1:30 PM at Wisconsin Veterans Home-Olson Hall Chapel. Military Graveside Services will be in the Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. A memorial visitation will be on Thursday from 12:30 PM until the time of services at the Olson Hall Chapel.
