Shirley A. Holmes' Obituary
Shirley A. Holmes age 76 of Waupaca, died on Friday December 27, 2013 with her family by her side. She persevered through 54 years of Type I Diabetes. Shirley was born on November 12, 1937 the daughter of William and Lillie (Teetzen) Schroeder. Shirley married Donald Holmes on August 8, 1959. Shirley and Donald were owners of the Waupaca Camping Park. She was a board member of Wisconsin Campground Owners Association, Waupaca County Chamber of Commerce, Waupaca Area Chamber of Commerce and other associations. Shirley was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed her time with family, friends, gardening, sewing, cooking and reading. Shirley is survived by her husband Donald Holmes of Waupaca, WI; two daughters Linda (Mike) Conway of Hartland, WI and Carla (Joe) Guidinger of Nashotah, WI; five grandchildren Michael (Jamie) Conway, Meaghan Conway, Rachel Guidinger, Jacob Guidinger, and Jordan Guidinger; one sister Mildred Montevido,many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter Patricia Holmes; two sisters Alice and Edna Pearl; one brother Raymond.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday December 31, 2013 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church at 10 A.M. Father Amalraj Roche will officiate, with burial to be held at a later date. A visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church from 9 – 10 A.M. Shirley is safely home in Heaven with Angel’s by her side.
