Sophie Trzebiatowski's Obituary
SOPHIE C. TRZEBIATOWSKI
AMHERST JCT., WISCONSIN Age 81 passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 20, 1924 in the Town of New Hope, WI; daughter of Nick and Mathilda (Kudla) Pionkowski. On August 30, 1947, Sophie married Hubert E. Trzebiatowski at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia, WI. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2004. Hubert came to Sophie to bring her home to the Lord the weekend of their 59th wedding anniversary. Sophie was a member of St. James Catholic Church in Amherst where she had served as president of the altar society and member of the church choir. She also was a member of the altar society of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. She was a 4-H leader, member of Homemakers of America, and was involved in many cooking contests. In the early 60’s, Sophie won the Dairy Land Contest. She also was involved in the Relay For Life Cancer Walk for many years as she courageously battled four different cancers since 1992. Sophie worked in the nursing department at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King for 22 years. Her compassion for others and her helping hand is what made her work so special. She was an avid gardener and loved to show and bring her flowers to others. Sophie and Hubert traveled to many different places throughout their life. Sophie will be greatly missed by all of her family and her dog, KoKo. Sophie is survived by:

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hubert Trzebiatowski, two brothers, Ambrose and Florian Pionkowski, two sisters and their husbands, Kinga (Bronis) Konkol and Longina (Onufry) Omernik, brother-in-law and his wife, Henry (Wanda) Trzebiatowski, and two sisters-in-law, Emily (Elmer) Kezeske and Nellie Trzebiatowski. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church in Amherst. Father Robert Pedretti will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 8:00 – 10:00 AM at the church with a Rosary Service at 9:30 AM. Burial will be at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Amherst following the services on Saturday. The Jungers-Holly Funeral Home of Amherst is assisting the family with arrangements. We love you mother and we want you to know why we feel so proud to be your children. You were a remarkable woman who accomplished so much as a mother, wife, and Christian. You were strong but soft, strong but caring, and immensely compassionate. You gave to your friends. You gave to your family. You gave to everyone. You were loved by so many people, whose lives you have touched, especially us! We will love you always and forever.
