Stanley Francis Parent's Obituary
Stanley Francis Parent, age 61, of Waupaca, Wi passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 after a hard fought and courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Stan was born in Springfield, MA on July 1, 1954, the son of Alton and Theresa (Neal) Parent. On August 20, 1983, Stan married his love Maureen McGlinch in Rochester, New York. Stan began his apprenticeship as a Tool & Die Maker at Taylor Instrument, later working for Alliance Tool & Die and Eastman Kodak Co. in Rochester, NY. In 1988 he moved his family to Wisconsin where he was employed by Badger Plug Co. Inc. Greenville, WI for 27 years. In 2007 he started and ran SP Sharpening out of his home for what he said was his "beer money." Stan was a member of the Rochester Corvette Club, Waupaca International Cultural Exchange Committee and St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Stan's passions included downhill skiing, vintage Corvettes, golf, pool and "tinkering". He loved to dance and was known as a dancing machine that could clear a dance floor. Stan was a man of high energy, who greeted everyone with a smile, was always willing to help others, and lived life to the fullest.
Stan is survived by his wife: Maureen Parent, Waupaca, WI; his mother: Theresa S. Neal, Winter Springs, FL; his children: Elizabeth "Liz" (Hans Early-Nelson) Parent, Minneapolis, MN; Charles A. (Tania Botoli) Parent, Minneapolis, MN; John F. (Ashlyn) Parent, Waupaca, WI and his grandchildren: Eisen S. Early-Nelson and Rylee & Evelyn Parent; his sister: Pamela (Richard) Kroll, Rochester, NY; his father-in-law: Charles A. McGlinch, King, WI; and sisters-in-law: Kathy (Thomas) Spahr, Milford, DE; Mary (Mark) Polebitski, Waupaca, WI and Monica (John) Depies, Appleton, WI and his uncle: Albert (Jeanie) Parent, Laguna Woods, CA. Stan is further survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father Alton Francis Parent, Jr. and his sister Cynthia Anderson. A Celebration of Stan's Life will be held on Saturday, October 17 at 1 PM at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. Visitation will be on Friday evening from 4 to 7 PM and again Saturday from 12-1PM before the service.
