Stanley Burton Utter's Obituary
Stanley Burton Utter, age 86 of King, passed away on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home.
Stan was born March 5, 1928, in Marinette to Amassa and Della (nee Grandaw) Utter. He entered the Army April 1946 served in Japan and Korea, discharged June, 1954, Sergeant First Class. He owned and operated the Standard Station in Hartford for 18 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Michigan and taking Charters on Lake Michigan in the 1970's. Spent summers in Michigan and winters in Portage until 2008 when he entered the Veterans Home.
Survived by 4 children, Douglas, Kellie (Utter) Merkes, Cindy (Romy) Baus, Michael Utter. Grandchildren, Kim (Baus) Wesell, Jason Merkes, Karen (Baus) Aaron Matuszak, Amy Utter, Matthew Utter, Michael Utter, Jr. and Jessica Merkes. Great Grandchildren, Parker Wesell, Ayden Merkes, Asher Merkes, and Landon Matuszak, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Private Funeral Services for Stanley will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. at the Wisconsin Veterans Home- MacArthur Hall Chapel with Chaplin Richard Engle, officiating. A visitation will be from 12:30 till time of services at the chapel. Burial with military rites will follow the service at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King.
Stan's family and John and Pat Unser family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff of the Wisconsin Veterans Home for the special care given to him during his final years. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
