Sterling W. Waala's Obituary
Sterling W. Waala age 89 of Wild Rose, died on Monday July 18, 2011 at the Wild Rose Community Memorial Hospital. Sterling was born on January 27, 1922 the son of Julius and Julia (Thompson) Waala. Sterling married Loretta Maihofer on September 24, 1949 in West Holden. When Sterling was younger people called him “Mike”. Sterling worked numerous jobs over the years including night watchman for Speed Queen, he drove tractor for ANR Tree Farm, and Town Clerk for the Town of Wautoma. He was also a lifelong and faithful member of the West Holden Lutheran Church.
Sterling is survived by his wife Loretta Waala of Wild Rose WI; two sons Warren (Deb) Waala of Redgranite, WI, and Dale (Kelly) Waala of Waupaca, WI; two grandchildren Chelsea, and Preston Waala both of Waupaca, WI.
Sterling was preceded in death by his parents Julius and Julia Waala.
A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday July 21, 2011 at 11 A.M. at the West Holden Lutheran Church. Pastor Todd Murken will officiate with burial to follow in the West Holden Lutheran Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Wednesday July 20, 2011 at the Holly Funeral Home in Wild Rose from 4 – 7 P.M. and again at the church on Thursday from 10 A.M. until the time of the service at 11 A.M.
