I have often thought of Sue through the years after our time together at Oshkosh North High School back in 1974. Sue befriended me when I was new on staff. During my short years at ONHS Sue was a true friend and confidante. Throughout her counseling career I know many students benefited from her attention to detail, along with her kindness and concern for their well-being. I am sorry to hear of her passing but I know she had faith in Jesus and is now safely home in heaven along with Tom and other family members.

I spent the first 18 years of my life as nextdoor neighbors of the Holly's. The neighborhood kids used to play 'capture the flag' at night over an area that extended from the Holly Funeral Home to the Mather's home on Main Street. Sue was the only girl who could outrun me and it was a source of constant frustration. She was the epitome of what was eventually known as "you go girl!" and she would have excelled at women's sports if there had been any female high school athletic programs in the 1960's. She loved her Dachshunds (Kurt, Huntz and Katie) as well as Louie, their mixed breed neighborhood ambassador. Her family always had their home open to the neighborhood children and we often spent time in the den watching TV. All of the Holly's were blessed with intelligence and athleticism and were caring and personable people. My sympathies go to her surviving brothers (John and "Riff") and their families.

I WAS VERY SAD TO HEAR ABOUT SUE. I WENT BACK TO THE OLD DAYS WHEN WE WERE ALL RUNNING AROUND THE YARD BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME. VERY GREAT MEMORIES. I KNOW YOU ALL WILL MISS HER GREATLY.

My sincere condolense in the loss of your sister, Sue. Although I only knew Sue from the Villa, she always had a smile for me when I was visiting my Mother, especially when she had her headphones on! She loved the music.
I can't imagine how difficult this entire situation has been on your family.

Sue was my councilor at Lincoln High in Rapids.She was always smiling and,was always willing to help the kids out.I enjoyed her friendship during that time.I could tell that she had a passion for her work, and loved the students she worked with.May God bless her and her family.

Deepest Sympathy to the Holly and Newman family. Sue was a dear friend, we spent many hours together in WHS band. Spending time at her house or the Cottage was filled with fun and beautiful memories.
