Age 45 – passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born in Wausau, WI on April 10, 1966, the daughter of Franklin and Bonnie (Kohnhorst) Andreas. She married Shawn M. Sopa on October 7, 1995 in Wausau, WI.
Susan is survived by her husband, Shawn, children; Sawyer M. Sopa and Shania M. Sopa, mother; Bonnie Andreas of Waupaca, brother; Richard (Lisa) Andreas of Green Bay, nephew; Carson Andreas, and niece; Ava Andreas, both of Green Bay, mother-in-law and father-in-law; Sally and Ed Sopa of Waupaca, sisters-in-law; Holly Meza of Waupaca, Heidi (Elias) Vargas of Neenah, and Melissa Sopa of Waupaca, and brother-in-law; Shane Sopa of Waupaca. Susan was preceded in death by her father; Franklin Andreas.
Susan was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca. She was employed with the K-Mart Corporation for 26 years, working both in Wausau and currently in Waupaca. While living in Wausau she had done volunteer work at Wausau Hospital for about two years. Susan enjoyed a number of things including gardening, camping, making artificial floral arrangements for weddings, and spending time with family and friends, but she always devoted the majority of her time to taking care of her family.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI, with Reverend Andrew Behrendt, officiating. A visitation will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, and at the church on Tuesday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in the name of Susan M. Sopa. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
