TENA JENKINS
KENOSHA, WI (FORMERLY OF WAUPACA, WI) Age 89 – died on Sunday, September 4, 2005 at Hospitality Manor in Kenosha. She was born on November 14, 1915 in Maywood, IL to the late Peter and Marie (Slager) VanDyke. She married Floyd M. Jenkins on January 5, 1946 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1987. Tena is survived by a son: Ron (Anne) Jenkins of Garland, TX, two daughters: Karen (Richard) Olsher of Kenosha, WI, and Arlys (Rev. Jonathan) Reine of Minneapolis, MN, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren, a brother: Harry VanDyke of Elkhorn, WI, and a sister: Marie Murdock of Mukilteo, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, her parents, an infant son: Kenton Jenkins, and infant granddaughter: Rachel Reine, two sisters: Ann Schurman and Irene Bakker, and a brother: Peter VanDyke. Tena had been a 4-H leader. She had also been very active with the Waupaca Speed Skating Club from its beginning, serving as a coach and a scorekeeper. She had also been an active member of the Waupaca VFW Auxiliary. She retired from the First National Bank in Waupaca in 1978. A funeral service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Thursday, September 8, 2005 at 1:00 PM, with the Rev. Jonathan Reine, officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Park Cemetery in Waupaca following the funeral service. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Thursday from Noon until 1:00 PM. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
