Theresa L. Carlson
Waupaca, WI
Age 94 - died Sunday, December 20, 2009 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. She was born April 5, 1915, in Abbottsford, WI, the daughter of Bert and Susan (Dopp) Minton. Theresa married Carl H. Carlson on November 4, 1936. Carl preceded her in death on December 2, 1991. Both Theresa and Carl were co-owners of the Waupaca Fruit Store, and later the King grocery store.
Her interests were broad including Pythian Sisters Officer, Eastern Star, Vice President of the Hospital Auxiliary, and serving at the voting polls for 50 years. She was an amazing cook, enjoyed volunteering, helping others, and playing cards. She was a die hard Packer fan, but continued to follow Brett Favre. Given her age, she stayed very active with a quick pace and a spring in her step, always having something to complete. She loved to golf, bowl and read, keeping abreast of current events with her opinions being solid and strong. Theresa worked hard all her life, an independent, very talented and creative lady.
Theresa is survived by son Dan (Nancy Thompson) Carlson of Michigan, daughter Connie (Tom) Petrillo of New Jersey, four grandchildren Julie (Dave) Ulseth, Eric (Kimberly) Carlson, Kristopher (Katrina) Petrillo, Erica (Michael) DelCampo, five great grandchildren Emily and Andrew Carlson, Thomas and Morgan Ulseth, Mateo Petrillo and many nieces , nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl, three sisters; Bernice Nobles, Beatrice Matheson, and Dorothy Jedlicka, and an infant grandson Matthew Carl Petrillo.
Theresa leaves behind a family that loved her deeply and memories that will be cherished forever. Those who knew her will miss her each in their own way, but for her family and close friends there will be a big emptiness felt forever.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 23, 2010, 11:00 AM at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial of cremains will take place at Lakeside Memorial Park in Waupaca. In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
