We were neighbors across the street from Tess for the past 3 years. When we realized that she was home bound and on her own, I grew great pleasure from checking in on her from time to time. Sometimes this was by phone, but in the summer months I would drop in and bring a sweet treat for her evening snack. Tess was a dear to talk to. We enjoyed sharing laughter, nature stories, and stories from her past. She got a kick out of the fact that both of our husbands were named Jerry. I admired her independent nature and her attitude of gratitude for each new day. I felt privileged to spend time with her and wish her peace.
