Age 73 – died unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca, WI. He was born on July 29, 1936 in Neenah, WI, the son of Clifford and Gunhild (Ogne) Baer. He married Patricia A. Naleway on April 10, 1961 in Dubuque, Iowa. She preceded him in death on February 17, 2009.
Tom is survived by nephews, Tim (Pam) Baer and David (Josie) Baer, both of Oshkosh, and a niece, Susan (Paul) Penzenstadler of Oshkosh. He is further survived by great nieces and great nephews, special friends, Ruth Gerou, Terri Vaughn, and Sherry West, and his dog, Sheba. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat, his parents, and two brothers, Gerald and David Baer.
Tom had been the Superintendent of Parks and Forestry for the city on Neenah for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to Casinos. He especially enjoyed the time he spent with his dog, Sheba.
A funeral service will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Father Paul Vanden Hogen, officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum in Neenah, WI. A visitation will be held at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Saturday morning from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. A memorial has been established for Sheba’s care in memory of Thomas D. Baer. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
