Thomas Barden's Obituary
Thomas Christ Barden age 65 of Almond, WI passed away peacefully on Saturday June 4, 2016. Tom was born in Stevens Point on July 20, 1950, the son of the Franklin Barden and Ann Barden. Tom graduated from Almond High School. After High School he joined the Army. He was a Private First Class, serving from 1970 to 1973 stationed in Germany. Tom was a member of the Mead-Rath-Gutke American Legion Post 339. Tom received an associate degree in Civil Engineering at Mid-State. On July 4, 2001 Tom married Patty O’keefe on his farm in Almond. Tom and Patty remained on the farm. Tom was a foreman/ heavy equipment operator and worked for Cape Construction until his retirement. Tom was an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoyed watching the local high school teams along with the Lanark baseball team. Tom enjoyed watching the Brewers and Packers. Tom also enjoyed hunting with his brothers and nephews.
Tom leave behind his loving wife Patty Barden of Almond, WI; his mother Ann Barden of Amherst, WI; his siblings JoAnn (Jack) Doyle of Amherst, WI, Bob (Chris) Barden of Plover, WI, Karen (Mick) Wennesberg of Tell City, TN, Gary (Sandy) Barden of Wautoma, WI, Mike (Val) Barden of Amherst, WI, Pat (Dave) Kamke of Green Bay, WI and Mary Jo Barden of Waupaca, WI; his sisters-in-law and Kylah and Kierra along with several nieces and nephews.
Tom was preceded in death by his father Franklin Barden; two brothers Jim and John Barden; sister-in-law Peggy Barden and Paternal and Maternal grandparents; father-in-law, mother-in-law and brother-in-law.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday June 10, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Maximilian Kolbe Catholic Church. Father Jim Trempe will officiate, with burial to follow at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday June 9, 2016 from 4 until 7 PM with a Rosary service at 7 PM. at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst and again at church on Friday from 9:30 until the time of the service.
