Todd J. Fruechtl's Obituary
Todd J. Fruechtl, age 52, a former Peshtigo resident who had been living in King, WI was taken home to his Lord and Savior on July 1, 2012. Todd was born May 19, 1960 in Menominee , MI to the late Hugh and Joan Marie Fruechtl.Todd was baptised and confirmed at Christ Lutheran Church. He attended Trinity Lutheran School in Marinette , WI and upon graduating from Menominee High School, MI in 1978 he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served his country for 10 years. His service included two extended cruises aboard the fast frigate USS Clifton Sprague in the capacity of a bosun's mate. At 6 feet 7inches Todd was truely a kind hearted gentle giant who was blessed with legendary generosity toward others. A talented cook ,wood worker and furniture restorer, likewise, Todd was a sincere student of the Polka. He also inherited his kindness,love of animals and passion for musky fishing from his late father Hugh, who was also his favorite fishing partner.Todd's earthly journey ended peaceably in his sleep. He will be sadly missed. Todd is survived by three sisters:Linda (Terry) Conder of Cross Lake,MN; Kathy (Gary) Groff of Eagle River, WI; April (Robert) Murphy of Oakdale,MN; one brother: Scott of Sturgeon Bay,WI; many nieces,nephews and cousins. He was preseded in death by his parents. A private Celebration of Life was held at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. The family is grateful for the support of all Todd's lifelong friends...old and new , including his fellow veterans and the wonderful staff at King. Memorials can be given to St. Johns Lutheran Church of Peshtigo, WI. The family was assisted by A.J. Holly & Sons of Waupaca.
