Tonya L. Durrant's Obituary
Tonya L. Durrant, age 43, of Appleton, WI, formerly of Waupaca, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at her home. She was born October 2, 1979 in New London, WI; daughter of Ronald Schiesser and Brenda Schwirtz. Tonya always had a way with words and through the years she enjoyed writing her own poetry. This is something she was taught at a young age by her mother and something that she has passed on to her daughters. Tonya loved to travel and she made adventures along the way. She enjoyed crafting, taking rides on motorcycles with the wind on her face, cooking giant mushrooms, helping others, and most of all, spending time with her daughters, her fur babies, and family. Tonya will be deeply missed by all of her loving family and dear friends.
Tonya is survived by her three daughters Keandra Land of Oshkosh, Kylie Frank of Weyauwega, and Serenity Carter of Appleton; her mother Brenda (Bob) Schwirtz – Martin of Weyauwega; a brother Mark Schoenick of Appleton and his two sons James & Mason; aunts and uncles Terry (Jean) Schwirtz of Almond, Vicki (Rick) Jones of Waupaca, and Chad (Connie Fritch) Schwirtz of Arizona; her fur babies Charles, Bella, and Oliver; and also by many cousins, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Earnway and Elizabeth Schwirtz; her father Ronald “Ronnie” Schiesser; a cousin Cora Jones; an uncle Brad Schwirtz; and her fiancé Joe Mahuta.
A visitation for Tonya will be on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
