Age 44 – died on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 26, 1965 in Iola, WI, the son of Lyle and Beverly (Smith) Cady. He married Vicki Sager on March 1, 1996 in Waupaca, WI.
Vance is survived by his wife, Vicki, his daughter, Amber Staton of Colorado Springs, CO, two sons, Benjamin and William Cady at home, step-daughter, Alizabeth Hanes of Ogdensburg, grandson, Damion Sorters, sisters, Valerie (Ron) Wolberg of Scandinavia, and Vickie (Richard) Dain of Iola, and a brother, Vernon (Jodey) Cady of Scandinavia. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Beverly Cady.
Vance had been employed at the ThyssenKrupp Foundry in Waupaca for a number of years. He had served in the U.S. Marines from January of 1985 until he was honorably discharged in January of 1989. He was a member of the Hitterdahl Lutheran Church of Iola. Vance had a number of interests including turkey hunting and deer hunting, fishing, camping, and horse back riding. He had his brother co-organized the Cady Fisheree held on North Lake near Iola. Vance especially loved the time he could spend with his children, and he always made himself available to his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Hitterdahl Lutheran Church of Iola, WI on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 1:00 PM, with the Reverend Bob Hanson, officiating. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials can be directed to the Fox Valley Brain Tumor Coalition, 5320 W. Michael’s Dr., Appleton, WI 54913 in the name of Vance L. Cady. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
