Verdie I Emmons' Obituary
Verdie I. Emmons, age 92, of the Wisconsin Veterans Home formally of Wild Rose, WI, passed away Friday, January 30, 2009 at the Veterans Home. Verdie was born in Tomahawk, WI on October 27, 1916 the daughter of the late Otto and Ethel (Jourdan) Dotter. On April 26, 1947, Verdie married Edwin M. Emmons in Rhinelander, WI and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2002. Verdie worked for many years at Lawrence University in Appleton. She is a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Waupaca. She is survived by her daughter: Jennifer (Lee) Marks of Hortonville; her son: Paul Emmons of West Chester, PA; 3 Grandchildren: Becky (Bill) Hatfield of Clintonville; Jason (Betsy) Marks of Greenville and Michael Marks of Hortonville; 2 Great Grandchildren: Kaleb & Drew Hatfield and her sister: Glada Huebner of Rhinelander. Verdie is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be on Wednesday, Feb. 4 at 11 AM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Waupaca with Reverend Nigel J. Bousfield, officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the spring at Rural Cemetery in the Town of Dayton. Memorial visitation will be on Wednesday morning from 10 AM until the time of mass at the church. The Emmons Family wishes to thank the entire staff at the Wisconsin Veterans Home for the love and wonderful care of both their mother and father, Verdie & Ed.
