Vern R. Genteman's Obituary
Vern Ray Genteman passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on Friday, July 22, 2022 in Fredonia, WI at the age of 70. He was born July 25, 1951 in Neillsville, WI; son of William and Lura (Mills) Genteman, the youngest of 6 children.
Vern was married to Catherine on October 14, 1978 for 43 years. They had 3 children together, Zachary, Nathan, and Jennifer. Vern proudly served in the Marine Corps from 1970-1972 and then spent his entire professional career working as an auto technician for 44 years retiring in January of 2021. He enjoyed hunting, boating, camping, traveling with family, and collecting classic cars in his younger years.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; his children, Zachary (Alysabeth), Nathan (Vivian), and Jennifer (Daniel); his siblings, William Jr., Bonnie, Barb, and Betty; his 6 granddaughters, Amber, Peyton, Taylor, Ella, Mackenzie, and Hailey; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Lura Genteman, and a brother Larry Genteman.
A Celebration of Vern’s Life will be on Friday, July 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. A visitation will be held on Friday afternoon from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home. Burial will take place following his service on Friday at the Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King where full military honors will be performed. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
