Verna Pomerenke's Obituary
Verna M. Pomerenke, age 98, of Waupaca, WI, passed away Thursday, June 18th, 2009 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born in Almond, WI on February 28, 1911, the daughter of Wesley and Ida Pike. Verna married Henry Pomerenke on April 4, 1929 in Waupaca. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1988. She was an avid gardener and bird watcher. Verna loved flowers and her cat, Trouble. She is survived by Children: Norbert (Ruth) Pomerenke, Neenah, WI; LeRoy (Martha) Pomerenke, Eland, WI; Donavon (LaVerne) Pomerenke, Ogdensburg, WI; Dwight (Nancy) Pomerenke, New London, WI; Beverly Dunbar, Waupaca, WI; Darlene (John) Thomas, Waupaca, WI; numerous Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren, and Great Great Grandchildren; Sister-in-law: Norma Mallison, Waupaca, WI; Son-in-law: James Corbin, Scandinavia, WI; Daughters-in-law: Alice, Pauline, Jane, and Judy. She was preceded in death by her Parents; five Sons, Duane, Leslie, Neil, Wesley, and Arthur; Daughter, Doris Corbin; 7 brothers and sisters. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 22, 2009 at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, with Reverend Philip Thompson officiating. Interment will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Town of Belmont, Portage County. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 4 until 8 PM and on Monday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Holly Funeral Home
