VERNON O. APPS
KING, WISCONSIN
FORMERLY OF WILD ROSE, WISCONSIN Age 88, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. He was born January 4, 1925 in Wild Rose, WI; son of Edward and Edith (Kirsenlohr) Apps. Vernon was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved baseball and was asked to play for the Chicago Cubs, but was drafted into the U.S. Army on December 21, 1944. He served during WWII and was honorably discharged on October 25, 1946. Vernon operated the Wild Rose Pickle Station and had owned The Cabaret in Wild Rose for a number of years. He will be deeply missed by all of his family and friends. Vernon is survived by:

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Edith Apps; an infant son, Dennis, in 1949; four brothers, Harold, Ron, Ellsworth, and Edward Apps, Jr.; and two sisters, Edna Sullivan and Beatrice Kanneman. A Memorial Service will be on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Main Chapel at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. Chaplain Wayne Schwanke will officiate. A visitation will be held on Monday from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the chapel. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. HOLLY FUNERAL HOME
