Viola Schmidt's Obituary
VIOLA M. SCHMIDT
WAUPACA, WI Age 83 – died on Friday, February 17, 2006 at Bethany Home in Waupaca. She was born on July 28, 1922 in the Twp. of Royalton, Waupaca County, WI, a daughter of the late Wilhelm and Emma (Dreger) Glocke. She married Albert “Bud” Schmidt on June 12, 1943. He preceded her in death on July 25, 1995. Viola is survived by her son: Ronald (Marcella) Schmidt of Waupaca, her daughter: Sharon (William) Bonikowske of Waupaca, grandchildren: Jerry (Carey) Schmidt of Ogdensburg, Kathy (Rick) Schmidt of DePere, Connie (Tom) Riedasch of Neenah, and Cindy (Brian) Croke of Germantown, great grandchildren: Matt Lins, Courtney Schmidt, Greg Schmidt, Devin Schmidt, Shae Schmidt, and Holly Croke. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Viola was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred, a grandson, Larry Schmidt, her parents, two brothers, and three sisters. Viola was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church - Baldwin’s Mill, near Weyauwega. She had been a homemaker. She had also farmed with her husband in the Casey Lake area near Waupaca. She enjoyed Polka dancing and playing cards. A funeral service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church – Baldwin’s Mill on Monday, February 20, 2006 at 11:00 AM, with Reverend Barry Hoerz, officiating. Interment will be in the Little Wolf Cemetery, Twp. of Little Wolf, Waupaca County, WI. Friends may call at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca on Sunday, February 19, 2006 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM, and at the church on Monday morning from 10:00 – 11:00 AM. Memorials are appreciated to St. John’s Lutheran Church in memory of Viola M. Schmidt. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca assisted the family with arrangements.
