Violet Christie's Obituary
Violet M. Christie, age 84, of Waupaca, WI, passed away Friday, February 13th, 2009 at the Riverside Medical Center in Waupaca. She was born in the Town of Dayton, Waupaca County, Wisconsin on May 8, 1924, the daughter of Loran and Orilla (Beggs) Lovejoy. Violet married Melvin Christie on February 19, 1944. He preceded her in death on February 26, 2002. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Violet was also an avid gardener and loved helping taking care of the family farm. The time she treasured most was the time she spent with her family and especially the time spent with her grandchildren. She is survived by Children: Donna Christie, Waupaca; Richard (Sherry) Christie, Hancock, WI; Darlene Christie, Waupaca; Douglas (Lisa) Christie, Waupaca; Grandchildren: Jeff (Jodee), Greg (Katie), Angie (Jerry), Jeremy, Logan, and Ian; Great Grandchildren: Zach, Nicholas, Patrick, Phillip, Johanna, Jack, and Kayla; and a Brother: Norman Lovejoy, Waupaca. Violet is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Melvin; Son, David; Grandson, Scott; and a Brother, William. A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca with Reverend Scott Jones officiating. Interment will be in Greenvale Cemetery in the Town of Belmont, Portage County, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12 Noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
