Virginia R. Tess' Obituary
Virginia Ruth Tess (Sawyer), age 99, of Almond, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin.
Virginia was born on August 13, 1926, in the Town of Iola, Wisconsin, to the late Floyd W. Sawyer and Ruth J. (Waldo) Sawyer. She was united in marriage to Walter H. Tess on June 12, 1948, in Almond, Wisconsin. Together they built a loving home and shared many years devoted to their family.
Virginia was a dedicated homemaker whose greatest joy was raising her wonderful family. She found fulfillment in caring for those she loved and creating a warm and welcoming home. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her.
She was a faithful and active member of the Almond United Methodist Church, where her quiet faith and servant's heart were evident throughout her life.
Virginia is lovingly survived by her children, Nancy Otto, Wayne Tess, Robert (Tara) Tess, Neal (Sylvia) Tess, and Bruce Tess; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter H. Tess; her parents, Floyd W. and Ruth J. Sawyer; her son-in-law, Roger Otto; her daughter-in-law, Trudy Tess; her sister, Mable Arlene Sawyer; and her brothers, Carroll Sawyer and Glenn Sawyer.
A Memorial Service for Virginia will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, at the Almond United Methodist Church. A memorial visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the church.
The family extends its sincere appreciation to all who have offered their love, prayers, and support during this time.
