Walter Wollering's Obituary
WALTER R. WOLLERING
WAUPACA, WISCONSIN Age 91, passed away on Thursday, February 12, 2009 at St. Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point, WI. He was born May 6, 1917 in Milwaukee, WI; son of Ernst and Rose (Icke) Wollering. Wally attended UW-Madison from 1941-1944. Immediately following graduation, he went to serve in the U.S. Navy during WWII. In August of 1944, Walter married Mary Jane Prondzinski at the chapel at the Naval Academy. She preceded him in death on January 30, 1970. On September 30, 1972, Walter married Patricia Murray at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Milwaukee, WI. Wally worked as a metallurgical / welding engineer for Ladish Co., Inc. in Cudahy, WI for 36 years before his retirement in 1983. Wally was a member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca. Wally is survived by:

Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernst and Rose Wollering; first wife, Mary Jane Prondzinski; precious baby through miscarriage; two infant twin daughters, Rosemary and Kathleen Wollering; a daughter, Linda Sue Wollering; and four siblings, Eleanor Will, Raymond Will, Dorothy (Art) Gruenwald, and Lester (Bea) Will. A Funeral Service will be on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Jeffrey Holtan and Reverend Aaron Winkelman will officiate. A visitation will be held on Sunday evening, Feb. 15, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and also from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the church on Monday. Burial will be at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery following the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church – Building Fund or to the American Cancer Society.
