Wasyl (Walter) Janusz, Sr.'s Obituary
WALTER JANUSZ, SR.
SCANDINAVIA, WISCONSIN Age 88, died on September 24, 2013 on his farm in the Waupaca area. He died 26 months after his wife (Kateryna) of 66 years passed away. Walter was born January 13, 1925 in Stratyn, Ukraine. He endured numerous hardships during WWII and married his wife shortly after the war ended. Walter immigrated to the United States with his wife and children in 1951 from war torn Germany. He lived 29 years in Chicago and moved into the Waupaca area in 1980.
Although he cherished his Ukrainian heritage, he greatly valued the 63 years of life in the United States where he built a life and legacy.
Walter is survived by his sister, Hanna; two sons, Walter and Stefan; and one daughter, Mary. His eldest son, Michael, passed away 6 years earlier. In addition, he left behind 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. Reverend Carl Ferguson will officiate. A visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home. Burial will be at Sheridan Cemetery in the Town of Farmington following the service on Saturday.
