Wayne D. Bergen's Obituary
Wayne D. Bergen - age 88 - of Waupaca, WI, died on Thursday, June 26, 2014 at his residence. He was born on September 29, 1925 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Ruben and Stella (Sannes) Bergen. He married Caroldean Ferg on November 25, 1954 in Manawa, WI.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Caroldean, four sons: Timothy (Deborah) Bergen of Fond du Lac, Mitchell (Janet) Bergen of Waupaca, Benjamin (Pacita) Bergen of Medical Lake, WA, and Jamieson (Sharon) Bergen of Apple Valley, MN, grandchildren: Erik (Julie) Bergen of Fond du Lac, Erin Bergen of Appleton, Bryan Bergen and Brenda Bergen, both of Fond du Lac, Michelle (Todd) Armer of Neenah, Danielle Bergen and Andrew Max (Kelly) Bergen, both of Waupaca, and Megan Bergen of St. Paul, MN, and two great grandchildren: Easton Bergen and Chloe Armer. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and a special aunt and uncle: Clarice Benson and Ray Sannes who were raised by Wayne's parents, and were like a sister and brother to Wayne.
Wayne had been employed as a medical transport driver at the Wisconsin Veterans Home at King, WI for about 25 years, retiring in 1989. Wayne enjoyed wood working.
A memorial service will be held at the Bethany Home Chapel in Waupaca, WI on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 12:30 PM, with the Reverend Roger Nielsen, Pastor - St. John's Lutheran Church - Baldwin's Mill, officiating. A visitation will be held at the Bethany Home Chapel on Monday from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. Interment will be in the Scandinavia Lutheran Cemetery, Scandinavia, WI at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials are appreciated in memory of Wayne D. Bergen. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca, WI is assisting the family with arrangements.
