William J. Dombrowski's Obituary
William James Dombrowski, age 73, went to meet his maker Our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday January 12th. He passed peacefully at his home after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 14th, 1944 in Amherst Junction, Wisconsin. Son to Ramona (Firkus) and Nick Dombrowski. He graduated from PJ Jacobs in 1962. After high school he married the love of his life Diane Dombrowski on September 25th 1965. From there he spent six years serving in the National Guard. Together they had five children; Laura (Ray Przekurat) Trzebiatowski, Rob (Karen) Dombrowski, James (Kelly) Dombrowski, Adam Dombrowski, and Angela (Devin) Groshek; thirteen grandchildren Skylar and Brooke Trzebiatowski, Kasey, Nicholas, and Jacob Dombrowski, Aubree, Ava, Clare, and Natalie Dombrowski, Isabelle, Alaina, Andrew, and Dianna Groshek. He is further survived by his seven siblings; Diane (John) Pacocha, Darlene (James) Jakusz, Doris Fisher, Donna Dombrowski, Dottie O’Neal, Darol (Joyce) Dombrowski, Debra Janz, Duane (AnnaMarie) Dombrowski. As a committed Catholic he was a member of the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, the Saint Isidore Society, Monday Rosary Prayer group, Eucharistic Minister, past Parish council member, Divine Mercy committee and many other groups. As a truly devoted servant of the Lord, he spent his days in humble service by always putting God first in his life. He worked as operating engineer (Local 139), and along with his wife, together they owned and operated the Polonia Cafe until 2007. William loved fishing, hunting, gardening, but most importantly spending time with his family; especially watching his grandkids grow up. He is preceded in death by his wife Diane, his mother and father and younger brother and sister David and Angeline.
A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday January 16, 2018 at 11 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Polonia. Father Gregory Michaud will officiate with burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. A visitation will be held Monday January 15, 2018 from 4-8pm (Holy Rosary at 7pm) at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst, and again at the church on Tuesday from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am.
