William McCarthy's Obituary
William F. McCarthy, age 77, of Amherst, WI., passed away on Thursday, July 1st, 2010 after a long battle with cancer at Portage County Health Care Center. He was born in Richland Center, WI., on November 9, 1932, a loving son of the late James and Faye (Kapelka) McCarthy. Bill was a valedictorian of Riverside High School in Milwaukee and received a full music scholarship to Arizona State College. He married Jan Oldakowski of Almond on October 28, 1972. Bill had many occupations throughout his life. He was a police officer, a mail carrier and a business owner to name a few. Survivors include his Wife: Jan McCarthy, Amherst, WI; Children: Jon McCarthy, Appleton, WI; Thomas McCarthy, Milwaukee, WI; Erin (Steve) Koeppen, Colgate, WI; Debra (Al) Sajdowitz, Milwaukee, WI; William Romans, Milwaukee, WI; Cheryl (Kenneth) Jackson, Milwaukee, WI; Kathleen (Adam) Krejcarek, Milwaukee, WI; Jennifer (James) Trelka, Stevens Point, WI. and 4 Brothers. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son - William McCarthy and one brother. Funeral Services will be held at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, July 7th, 2010. Interment will be in Hope Cemetery, Town Belmont, Portage Co., WI. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 12:00 (Noon) until the time of the service at the funeral home. Bill would want to thank the Amherst EMT's for their immense hard work and compassion
