WILLIAM R. SCHONASKY
KING, WISCONSIN Age 82, passed away on Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI where he resided. He was born June 5, 1928 in the Town of Coloma, Waushara Co., WI; son of William John and Viola (Ely) Schonasky. William served in the U.S. Navy from February 1, 1949 – January 23, 1953 during the Korean War. He worked as a Master Electrician for the General Service Administration at the Pentagon in Arlington, VA. He was an avid historian and was the co-founder of the Packwaukee Historical Society in Packwaukee, WI. William enjoyed fishing and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by:

Eleven Grandchildren: Nathaniel Frazier, John Wehr, II, Bryan Frazier, Brittany Berry, Daniel Addington, David Addington, Amy Addington, Brittany Shoemaker, Raymond Schonasky, Jacob Addington, and Evan Schonasky

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Viola Schonasky; a son, William Schonasky; a brother, George Schonasky; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Schonasky and Josephine Schonasky; and a brother-in-law, Armond Ristau. A Funeral Service will be on Friday, September 3, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca, WI. President David Siebert will officiate. A visitation will be held on Thursday evening, September 2, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Holly Funeral Home in Waupaca and also on Friday from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in the Town of Kingston, WI following the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI in the name of William R. Schonasky.
