William "Willie" S. Trzebiatowski's Obituary
William S. Trzebiatowski, age 91, of the Town of Amherst, unexpectedly entered his heavenly home on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 while surrounded by his loving wife and family at Ministry Saint Michael’s Hospital in Stevens Point. William (Willie) was born November 26, 1925 to the late Max and Rose Trzebiatowski of Amherst, WI. He grew up in Amherst working the family farm and attended local schools. William served during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1952 as a Corporal in the United States Army stationed in Japan and received an Honorable Discharge. He was a member of the VFW Post 11346 of Amherst.
He married LaVerne Kowalski on October 5, 1953. Willie and LaVerne owned and operated their family farm. He was employed at Pagel Construction, a union carpenter, and was a lifelong logger. He also enjoyed family reunions, weddings, church picnics, polka dances, card parties and throwing horseshoes. He also stayed active doing gardening, picking blackberries, “tinkering” with all of his farming and construction equipment, and built homes for family and friends, with help from his sons. William loved his family which was important to him and that was instilled in us all. His faith was always important and he was a lifelong member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church – Fancher.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, LaVerne Trzebiatowski; eight children, Barb (Dale) Onan of Amherst, William “Bill” (special friend, Anne Litt) Trzebiatowski, Jr. of Amherst, Richard Trzebiatowski of Bancroft, Norbert (Rebecca) Trzebiatowski of Stevens Point, Julie (Duane) Johnson of Plover, Glen (Merridee) Trzebiatowski of Plover, Sandy Trzebiatowski of Amherst, and Susan (Anthony) Schwanda of Presque Isle; grandchildren, Eric (Jess) Onan, Mandi (Ben Jr.) Sankey, Adam Onan, Adrian Trzebiatowski, Taylar (Bryan) Houston, Max (Katie Jo) Trzebiatowski, Philip Trzebiatowski, Crystal (Brian) Ristow, Ryan (Sara) Johnson, Samantha Johnson, Westley Trzebiatowski, Hayleigh (Wesley) Perdue, Dillon Makuski, Mitchell Makuski, Ian (Alyssa) Schwanda and Olivia (Addison) Devitry; great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Peyton Onan, Brandon, Ty and Miranda Sankey, Brittney Harder, Jayden Houston, Nicholas, Brady & Evan Ristow, Everett Johnson, Kinleigh and Parker Perdue; great-great-grandson, Carter Schwendeman; step-granddaughter, Brooke Makuski; step-grandson, Shane Dennée; and step-great-grandson, Lakin Dennée. He is also survived by three brothers, Rudy Trzebiatowski, Mike (Arlene) Trzebiatowski, and Clarence (Mary Jane) Trzebiatowski; and four sisters, Lucille (Raymond) Patoka, Loraine Wroblewski, Arlene Wroblewski, and Janet (James) Roska.
William was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Jeffrey (stillborn); a grandson, Joseph “Joey” Trzebiatowski; a granddaughter, Dawn Harder; two brothers, Chet Trzebiatowski and Jerry “Cuz” Trzebiatowski; one sister, Nancy Trzebiatowski; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church – Fancher in Amherst, WI. Father Dan Hackel will preside. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27, from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church – Fancher with a Rosary Service to be at 4:30 PM at the church. A visitation will also be held on Wednesday morning at 10:00 AM until the time of the mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in the name of William S. Trzebiatowski.
