Alfred Joseph Helminski's Obituary
Alfred Helminski, age 91 of King, WI died Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King.
Alfred was born on July 21, 1923 to the late Michael and Johanna Helminski in Stevens Point, WI. Alfred joined the Marine Corps on November 30, 1942 in Stevens Point, WI and was honorable discharged on December 6, 1945 in Great Lakes, IL. Alfred married the late Mary Anne Rohrbacher in 1960. He was a Physical Education Teacher and Coach, well known as “Coach Al”. Alfred enjoyed fishing, the Northwoods, sports and loved the Green Bay Packers.
Alfred is survived by his daughter, Melanie (Erik Gjellestad Jr.) Kornis of Madison, WI; son, Michael J. (Kari) Helminski of Ashfork, AZ; grandson, Scott Kornis of Milwaukee, WI; great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Kornis.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 6th at the WI Veterans Home Main Chapel in King. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until time of service at the Main Chapel. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
