Charles T. Chivers' Obituary
Rev. Charles T. Chivers's life goal is complete. On September, 9, 2021, this husband, father, Popi, pastor, missionary, mentor, and friend was ultimately rewarded with the wisdom he prayed for, that can only be found sitting right next to Jesus.
You cannot easily describe this man, so overflowing with compassion for people, in a few simple paragraphs. Charlie believed that the heart of God was… PEOPLE and it showed in how he lived his life.
He sought out the underdog and fought for people often cast aside.
He loved supporting people and cheering them on.
He looked for and brought peace.
He cracked ridiculous jokes.
He literally prayed miracles for his family right before he was too sick to talk any longer.
He was friend to all.
He was a pastor and missionary to many.
He unmistakably loved his daughters and supported them endlessly.
He adored his grandchildren and left an incredible legacy.
He faithfully loved his wife of 48 years.
He was such a good man.
Born to Charles L and Georgia Chivers, in his 68 years on this earth, Charlie strived to be obedient to God and love people. This led to founding Special Touch Ministry, where over the last 40 years, he acquired a wealth of additional friends and special family to love.
His favorite bible verse was Philippians 1:6, "being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus."
His family who remains here on earth find joy in reflecting on the many moments they were blessed to be able to share with him and comforting assurance in knowing that one day they will be together again with him in heaven.
Charlie leaves his wife, Debbie, daughter, Stephany and her husband James McBride, daughter Cassie and her husband Talin Scheuermann and grandsons Charlie and Zion Scheuermann, daughter, Carley and Cody Kotney and grandson Colson, sisters Diana Baker, Cheryl Harris, and Londa Farrell.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support through this journey. In honoring Charlie's wishes there will be a Celebration of Life Sunday, September 19 at Spencer Lake Christian Center in Waupaca, Wisconsin with doors opening at 2pm and service starting at 3pm. Visitation will be at the same location, Saturday, September 18 at 6-8pm. Live streaming details will be posted on the Special Touch Ministry Facebook page.
Debbie and the family are so appreciative of everyone's desire to share their love and support. Continuing prayers and words of support are the only thing needed at this time. Donations to Special Touch Ministry (www.specialtouch.org) can be made in lieu of flowers, for Debbie and the rest of the ministry leadership to continue the ministry work to people with disabilities that was a big part of Charlie's heart and vision.
