Charlotte E. Shaffer's Obituary
Charlotte E. Shaffer, age 94, of Waupaca, WI, passed away on Saturday, January 13th, 2018, at her residence. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy. She was a longtime active member of Calvary Bible Church in Neenah, where she taught Sunday School, developed the Pioneer Girls program and used every opportunity to present Jesus to children.
In the mid 60's, Charlotte delved into the real estate business by getting her real estate license and subsequently her broker's license. Eventually she created Shaffer Realty, and with God's help became quite successful. She truly enjoyed watching God work miracles in her business.
Charlotte was competitive and enjoyed playing and watching a variety of sports, including football, baseball, table tennis, tennis, fishing and swimming/walking in the pool. Hand and Foot was a favorite card game, and the running tally of who won was extremely important. She was amazing in the kitchen; always using what she had on hand to create an elegant meal or tasty dessert. She was witty, fun, creative, artistic, selfless and loving. But the most important thing to her was Jesus, whom she shared with everyone she could. Her daily time in the Bible was extremely important to her. She looked to Jesus for strength and guidance each day and thanked Him as she anticipated seeing her Lord face-to-face.
She was a loving, praying Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and caring friend to many. She will be missed.
Survivors include her Daughters: Sandra (Hollis) Bliss, LaGrange, GA; Melody (Donald Jr.) Kieper, Neenah, WI; Grandchildren: Kimberley (Brent) Bliss Tisdale, Roopville, GA and Donald (Susan) Kieper III, Greenville, WI; Great Grandchildren: Emily Tisdale; Ansley Tisdale; Ethan Tisdale; Evan Kieper; Brother: Harold Nowland, Joliet, IL; Sister: Ruby Davis, Laporte, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents - Thomas and Susan (Palmer) Nowland, several siblings, husband - Roy H. Shaffer, and grandson - Brandon Bliss.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 19th, at 11:30 at Holly Funeral Home, 526 S Main St., Waupaca, WI, with Pastor Rick Ribble officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday, one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
